1. What is your home life like? Chaotic and relaxed at the same time. I’m a homebody and I feel relaxed at home but kids make it kinda crazy. And often loud.
2. What is your first thought when you think about high school? I was soooo uptight and self-righteous.
3. What is your strongest personality trait? I guess that depends on who you talk to. I’m not really sure how to answer. Some people would say say I’m strong willed.
4. What’s your work like? Exhausting and rewarding and often involves bodily fluids.
5. What do you wish your job was? I love my job being a mommy, even when I don’t love my job.
6. Describe your partner. He’s one of the smartest people I know, he is compassionate, sensitive and selfless. He is hardworking and he always makes me laugh and he is a truly wonderful father.
7. Describe yourself. I like to laugh, I am thoughtful and contemplative and I care about people. I am also demanding and and strong willed at times. I enjoy the company of good friends who I can be myself with. I like to be honest with people but sometimes I care too much about what others think.
8. What’s some good advice? Err on the side of grace when dealing with people.
9. Tell us about your childhood. It was mostly average.Â
10. What would you say to your ten year old self? Have more confidence in yourself. You are good enough just the way you are and you don’t need to apologize for who you are. Also, try to kinder to be others. You’ll regret being mean to kids later on.
11. Do you have a pet name for your significant other? If so, how did it come about? I guess we call each other “Babe” a lot. I’m not sure how that started.
12. What was your favorite cartoon growing up? What’s your favorite cartoon now? The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show. I’m still quite fond of it.
13. What is your best way to save money? Try not to spend so damn much. And put our child tax credit money straight into RESP and RRSPs. If it never gets into my account I can’t spend it.
14. What was your most frivolous purchase in the last couple of months? I have no idea. Nothing comes to mind.
15. What word would you like to see banished from use forever? Interac. Too many people say Interact instead.
16. What is the strangest thing about someone that has attracted you? (I.e. the way someone walked, the way they chewed, along those lines) Ummm…I guess I’m kinda boring. It’s mostly been the typical things for me – the smile, the sense of humor, etc.
17. What was your most memorable New Year’s Eve? Why? I got engaged on New Year’s Eve 1999 so of course that is it.
18. What line in a song or poem do people always screw up that drives you nuts? The words to O Canada. Or just any time that people are reading something directly from a book and misread it and don’t notice. I don’t know how you can not notice things like that but I’m a bit anal.
19. Are there poems or songs that you intentionally change the words to? When we listened to Alanis Morissette’s You Oughta Know we used to change f**k to hug so it said “Are you thinking of me when you HUG her?”

22. What’s caught your eye in the news lately? An ad for non-alcoholic beer that features pregnant women holding glasses of beer. It is causing a controversy because opponents believe that the ads are sending the wrong message because you can’t tell that the beer is non-alcoholic at first glance.
23. Where do you do your best thinking?  While driving.
24. What was the last thing you gave away? I guess the last load of old clothes I gave to Community Living.
25. What generation do you most identify with? What generation interests you the most? I guess I identify with my own generation. Actually I think my own generation probably interests me the most, too.
26. What was your favorite pet growing up? I only had one pet – a cat.
27. What keeps you up at night? What doesn’t keep me up? It takes me forever to fall asleep. I think about my day, the things I need to do, plans for the future.
29. Name 3 things you absolutely love. My family, my friends, curling up with a good book.
30. If you had to give 2 of them up which would they be (and why)? Well I do love my books, but I guess I’d keep my family.
31. What is your all time favorite memory EVER? My wedding and honeymoon.Â

What is the one thing that happened in high school that would make you avoid your class reunion? I dropped a friend’s trombone and caused hundreds of dollars of damage to it. It was so embarrassing, especially because I played the trombone, too. It’s not like I didn’t know how to hold it. AND the reason I was holding the trombone was because the girl had sprained her ankle and was climbing up onto the band risers.
33. What is your dream job, no matter how untrained you might be or unrealistic and bizarre it might be? Maybe something involving layout design, editing and being in charge of a team of people.
34. What’s one thing you think you’re really good at? I notice details.
35. What is the worst or best insult someone’s said to you? “You’re dumb as a mule and twice as ugly.â€Â To be fair, she wasn’t seriously trying to insult me. We were joking around.
36. What’s the lamest platitude you know? Telling someone that their dead loved one is “in a better place”.
37. Do you pick up hitchhikers? When was the last time you did? No. i’m too nervous. And now I rarely have room because of carseats and baby stuff.
38. What’s your favorite fruit and how do you like to eat it? Fresh, perfectly ripe peaches. I slice them off the pit.
39. What’s your favorite drive or drives? I love to drive in the prairies in the summer when everything is in full bloom.
40. Which begs the question, what’s your favorite hike or walk? I really enjoyed hiking the paths that are behind my inlaws home…until I found out that bears regularly wander around there.
41.   What does party mean to you? (I.e. when you go and get your party on, what does that mean?) Hanging out with good friends, playing games, eating good food, having a few drinks, NO KIDS.
42. What was the first thing you thought or said when you saw your significant other for the first time? I don’t remember. I know I thought he was funny in the first couple of times I met him.
43. Do you talk to yourself? Why? Occasionally. Usually when I’m frustrated or annoyed.
44. What’s been your biggest personal change in the last ten years? Learning to care more about who people are and less about what they do.
45. What are you most looking forward to? In the immediate future? The weekend. In the next few years? Maybe taking a trip with my husband and no kids.
46.   When was the last time you caught yourself before doing something really stupid? What was it? Geez, hardly a day goes by…especially when you have a little person who is more than willing to repeat anything you say to everyone and anyone.
47. What was your last nightmare about? That my cousin died.
48. How do you entertain yourself in traffic? Answering the many questions of my 3 year old and listening to music.
49. Who always puts a smile on your face? My good friends.
50. What was your most memorable first date? I only had one so that makes it memorable. My first vegetarian pizza and a movie with my (now) hubby.
51. Where did you first feel bliss? I really don’t know.
52. When did you realize that life really isn’t fair, nor does it have to be? Gosh, very early. I feel like I always kind of new that.
53. Why are so many people angry? There are a lot of things to be angry about. But I think we lack self-control and we fail to take responsibility for the way we act on our emotions. We feel we are owed a better life than we have and don’t have the proper perspective that we are among the richest people in the world.
54. How do you make the world a better place? By raising good kids and by being a caring friend.
55.   What is your earliest memory (presumably as a baby but maybe not)? I have a couple memories from when I lived in Manitoba which makes me 4 or younger. I remember missing my chance to see the moving van full of our stuff before they closed it up. I remember my mom giving me pickled onions in that house. I remember my dad wanting me to sing “You Are My Sunshine” to him.
56. What scares or scared you most about having kids? How easy it is to really screw them up.
57. How did your life change or how do you think your life will change when you have children? I had to become less selfish. It is a process. I think I”m still really selfish but I’m better than I was before my first child was born.
58. What is your favorite thing about babies? Their chubby cheeks and chins.
59. Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby? Yes. A baby that has just woken up after sleeping 10 or 12 hours. They are so adorable and happy and you feel good because you got a nice sleep.
60.   Who or what was the last thing you were really looking forward to that ended up not being at all what you’d expected or hoped for? Probably having kids. It was not at all what I expected or hoped it would be. In some ways it was a big disappointment and in others it was much better than I ever dreamed.
61. Who have you lost respect for recently? Why?  The Rentalsmen board in Saskatchewan. They have made some dumb new rules that are meant to protect the tenant but they have gone too far and screwed over landlords.
62. What or who disappointed you lately? I have disappointed myself.
63. How have you disappointed someone close to you? I’m sure Avery is very disappointed in me for not jumping up to get her apple juice the second she got up from her nap. But I was feeding the baby so she’ll just have to get over it.
64. What chore would you most like your significant other to do or finish? Folding the laundry!!!
65. What is your biggest self-inflicted danger to your health? Diet coke? Junk food in general.
66. Who inspires you? Most of my good friends inspire me in some way or another. Some of them inspire me to be more generous, to be more giving of myself, my time and my possessions, some inspire me to think more, some inspire me to have more fun and loosen up and some inspire me to hold myself accountable for my thoughts and actions. I think my husband is the one who most often inspires me to be a better parent, a more selfless spouse and a more giving friend.
67. What trait in the opposite sex makes you wonder most? Their ability to not care what other people think.
68. Which of the seven deadly sins is the worst? Why? That’s a dumb question. They’re called the SEVEN deadly sins. Not the six deadly sins and the one super-bad sin.
69. Do you blog on the weekends much or at all? I actually blog less on the weekends. My hubby uses the computer more on the weekends.
70. Who was your most unlikely friendship? I’m not sure. I’m good friends with my former youth group leaders who are about 25 years older than me.Â
71. What Fear Factor stunt would you design? Something involving breastfeeding and using a breast pump.
72. Which stunt would defeat you? Pretty much all of them.
73. What movies do you know by heart? Fiddler on the Roof, White Christmas, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Anne of Green Gables
74. What is your favorite post on someone else’s blog? Favorite post? There’s no way I could pick.  This isn’t on a blog but it’s really funny.
75. What’s your favorite leftover food? Probably pizza. But it has to be warmed up.
76. Who was the last person who challenged your beliefs and got you to change your mind? Probably my daughter.
77. How do you waste time you should spend doing useful stuff? Um, I think this post pretty much answers that question.
78.   What do you do with your spare change? I don’t usually have a tonne of spare change. I try to use it up and pay with exact change as often as possible.
79. What prompted you to give some money to a stranger recently? If you have given money to a stranger recently, of course. I always buy the chocolates that kids sell door to door. They are usually strangers. That’s all I’ve got.
80. What charities do you support and why? Youth For Christ, Ranger Lake Bible Camp, Compassion Canada, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and various other charities that come door to door. We usually give to places that we have a connection to through friends or through personal experiences.Â
81. What’s the kindest thing a stranger has done for you? The people who gave me money for my insulin pump were complete strangers.  That was a huge deal.
82. Do you wish people a “Merry Christmas”, “Happy Holidays”, “Seasons Greetings” or something else? Why did you choose it? Merry Christmas. That’s what the holiday is – CHRISTMAS.
83.   What word or words do you just love? Whimsical,soporific, I’m sure there are others but I can’t think of them right now.
84. What word or words make you want to tear your hair and run up and down the street with your fingers in your ears going “Lalalalalalalala”? Words that are not really words: orientate, interact, anyways
