Mommy: You know, when we were kids we didn’t have computers at all!***
Avery: Really???
Daddy: Yes, that’s right.
Avery: Why?
Mommy: Well, lots of reasons. They cost a lot of money and they were much bigger than they are now.
Avery: But how did you check the weather???
Â
***I lied. In reality, both my family and the hubby’s family had computers when we were quite young children. But I was making a point. And when we were young it was still pretty rare for people to own a computer.

That is hilarious! It reminds me of the red-neck weather station!

Did you tell Avery you stuck your head out the window and looked up?
But seriously, this is proving such a point about the technology that today’s children are growing-up with.

Back in my day… I remember being the first family in town to own a VCR and the remote control had a cord and you had to plug it into the VCR for it to work. As for computers, the 64 was a dream unit!

Our oldest son cried the other day when I told him that I wasn’t getting an iPhone. Yikers.
