Many of you may not know that tomorrow is World Diabetes Day. This day has been celebrated for some time but this year is the first time that it is being acknowledged by the United Nations. This year the focus is on children and diabetes. You may not know that children continue to die of diabetes around the world because they do not have access to insulin and poor education or healthcare causes their symptoms to remain ignored too long.
Tomorrow buildings and monuments around the world will light up in blue as a reminder that diabetes is still killing people and that we must make sure that people everywhere are able to access the tools and supplies they need to manage this disease and more importantly, we must not give up our quest for a cure.
If you would like to show your support of World Diabetes Day tomorrow, you can download their logo to display on your website here. I will be writing more about this tomorrow but it might be late because I want to get a picture of Banting House lit up in blue since I am living right around the corner from it on this monumental occasion!
